It's beginning to look a lot like winter

Snow on the Pentlands this morning by Davie Bell - East Kip, Scald Law and Carnethy from West Kip
It's beginning to look a lot like winter........and there's fell (and hill) races everywhere you go. Whilst our American 'ultra' running cousins were cracking out 50 miles in the one race ('The North Face Fifty') under the Californian sun on the Marin headlands, we've had over 40 miles (and 6820ft) of races in all shades of wintry weather.

  2. Good battle between myself and Cam today, although he lead for a lot longer than I did! We were together at the bottom of the last hill but I knew what was coming - that's what happens when you give away about 3 stone and deal in downhill finishes!
Records broken in both men's and women's - didn't catch the latter over the chattering of teeth and howling wind at the prize-giving!

  3. The Simonside Cairns Race was run in mild conditions today, but the route still had to be shortened to avoid the icy flagstones on the Simonside ridge. James Taylor (NFR) won in 1 hours 18 with Adam Fletcher (Berwick) in 2nd. Karen Robertson (NFR) was first lady. Results will appear on the NFR website. Not being a twitterite, it's back to old technology for this update. I'm enjoying your blog - keep up the good work.
